ROBINSON RETIRES

Wasps’ former New Zealand scrum-half Mark Robinson has retired from rugby.

The 34-year-old, who joined Wasps from Northampton in 2008, has been forced to retire after suffering from “a progressively degenerative right knee”.

“It has been a very difficult season for me and despite every effort to come back, my knee injury is just too severe and too painful to continue,” he said.

Wasps have also announced that lock Dan Leo will leave the club in the summer to join French side Bordeaux.

Leo, 27, joined Wasps in 2006 and has played 87 times for the first team.

“I would like to thank Wasps for giving me the opportunity to play rugby in the UK at the top level and as part of such a great club,” said Leo, who was part of the Samoa World Cup squad in 2007.
