WASPS DEFEATED IN FIRST OVERSEAS FIXTURE

The London Wasps were defeated by Harlequins in the first overseas fixture held in Rugby history. Karl Dickson, George Lowe and Ceri Jones crossed to help Quins to a 24-8 half-time lead, Tom Varndell replying for Wasps, nominally the home side.

Dickson’s second gave Harlequins a bonus point, before Joe Launchbury hit back for Wasps.

But Quins had the final word, Sam Smith crossing after Tom Williams’ long kick.
