Wasps sign Esteban Lozada

Aviva Premiership Rugby Football Union club the London Wasps have completed the signing of Argentina international second row player Esteban Lozada from his French club Agen, it has been announced by the club.

The 31 year old is a hugely experienced player and has 22 caps under his name for The Pumas and also played at the 2007 Rugby World Cup and he will add a lot of steel to the club’s play as well as experience, something that has been lacking among the players as they mount another challenge for the play off places of the Aviva Premiership this season.

The forward, born in Belgium, has previous experience of playing in some of the biggest teams in the world including Edinburgh as well as Toulon and he will join up with the London Wasps at their training base in France as they prepare for the new season.

Dai Young, the Director of Rugby of the club, spoke to the official website of the club after the announcement of the signing and his comments show how delighted he exactly is at the arrival of Lozada at the London club. He mentioned that it was important for the club to add another lock into the mix and with the addition of Lozada, they have succeeded in doing so.

He went on to add that the team has a lot of great players in that position and this could mean only good for the club as each and every player will push the other hard to get selected in the first team squad for the London Wasps. Young mentioned that Esteban will be bringing a lot of experience at international level to the club and they will have to wait and see what he adds to the squad as a whole this season.
